For example, a real “ear burner” is the use of the word “axe” instead of “ask.” When potential employers hear that word mispronounced, they may assume a lack of intelligence and capability of the speakers. That single pronunciation difference can be enough to tell the person in the hiring position that they don’t want that person “on board.” Say it Like a Pro! Speaking the Language of Commerce™ teaches the participant how to produce the Standard English sounds and eliminate the pronunciation differences. Participants understand the importance of becoming bi-dialectic and will learn how to “code switch.” Participants are not asked to abandon their personal speaking style, but to add another tool to their language tool box. It is important that the participant learn their current speaking style is different not deficient.

Say it Like a Pro! Speaking the Language of Commerce™ is offered as a 1 to 2 day workshop. Workshops are also offered for trainers within their organizations.
